In what was arguably the most anticipated product launch of the year for any consumer or technology-focused company, not to mention the most anticipated iPhone product launch ever, Apple did not disappoint and announced the launch of four new 5G iPhones at different price points, exterior designs and form factors.

The iPhone 12 was the star of the launch, featuring a bit of a flatter design concept and two rear cameras, ceramic shield glass cover, and high speed 5G connectivity.

The new Homepod Mini is a tad smaller than the original model but boasts a new rounded shape. It has touch controls on the top, integration with Siri, and comes in two colors.

We believe this launch coincides with the large scale nationwide rollout of 5G technology by telecom carriers such as Verizon & T-Mobile in a bid to capture more spend from existing and new customers.

Further, we believe these announcements vastly help local San-Diego based companies like Qualcomm (QCOM), which has a multi-year agreement to supply technology such as 5G modems to smartphone manufacturers like Apple, and is one of several chip suppliers that stand to benefit from the upcoming 5G revolution.

We are excited to see the direction these innovations take the Tech sector next, and corresponding market trends.
